I use this at home so the squeak does not bother me. it seems to help my leg musclesAfter moving to a new location that is a bit longer drive from the local gym, I've found that I started to using the distance as a reason to not go. After a long day of work, helping the kids with homework, seeing a nice meal on the table...you get the idea, the gym was too easily pushed off during weekday evenings.I needed a way to burn some calories that was low-friction and something I could do while multi-tasking, making my time more efficient. Something I could do while reading or watching TV would be great. I had some other home exercise equipment but they are either too noisy to use while watching TV, required use of my hands (so I couldn't hold a book or tablet), or were too unwieldy to move from the TV room to storage, or put me in a position where I couldn't look at the TV.Positives:- This compact elliptical has proven a great solution.- Assembly is pretty straightforward and the parts fit where they were supposed to and the screws turned smoothly.- The unit overall seems very sturdy and the movement is very smooth- It's very quiet. You can barely hear a light hum as you pedal. It's no problem to use this with TV or radio.- The tension dial is easy to use and you can feel it makes a difference.- The unit can be used standing up or sitting down. Both are good for TV watching, sitting is good for reading.- It really works! I break a sweat using it. But the best point for me is that now instead of fully sedentary evenings, I'm getting at least some kind of activity because it's accessible and comfortable to do.- The integrated handle helps you move the device when you need to.Negatives:- The electric readout is awful. It is supposed to track strides and time but you can't reset it. The instructions say it will automatically reset after a few minutes of inactivity but we've found that it doesn't really do that. As far as we're concerned, our own phones and clocks are what help us track our time. They should have either done this feature right or just killed it and knocked a few dollars off the price.- Although the unit is solid, I was watching from the back of unit when someone else was using it and I saw a slight wiggle of the upright portion at the base as they were pedaling. So far it hasn't seemed to have a negative effect on the device, but I wonder if long term that wiggle will weaken the unit. I'll update the review if anything changes.- It would have been nice if the unit had a little hook or clip on the back to tie up or store the resistance tubes when not using them or when moving the elliptical around.Tips:- I didn't care for the arm resistance tubes (they're fine, I just felt awkward using them). My wife though likes them and feels they add to the workout. If you don't feel you need them I believe you can buy this same item without them for a little less.- If your sense of balance is challenged, you might consider a different type of equipment since you'd only be able to use this sitting and I think the standing position makes for a better workout.- If you have very light lifting capacity, you might need someone else to help you assemble and move the unit around. It's not super heavy but definitely has some heft to it.23-Mar-2018 Update: The unit has continued working well though it has developed a slight squeak. Fortunately it is not louder than the television and has not affected the unit's performance.03-May-2019 Update: The unit is still intact and we're still using it several times a week. It still has slight squeaks and groans but we can still use it with the television and it continues to really help on weekdays when we aren't getting to the gym.05-Nov-2020 Update: Well well well. What a difference a year makes. Judging from the spike in views on this review I have to assume something happened in 2020 to make home exercise equipment popular! I still have this compact elliptical, and don't have much else to say about it. My frequency of use dropped some but it still works and it still beats the heck out of doing nothing. Plop it down in front of your favorite TV and use those legs!Easy to assembleNo squeaky noise when usingMeter works wellThis was very easy to assemble and everything was nicely packaged. I have used this several times already, both standing and sitting, and absolutely love the smooth feel. The monitor easily snaps in and out so you can switch the display to face you whether you are sitting or standing. I am not a very coordinated guy and do not even know how to roller skate so I was not sure how well I would fare standing up, but it was a breeze!! If you are going to use this standing up, always follow the instructions and mount and dismount using the lower foot pedal and use a wall or chair for support if you are not confident in your balance. I recently tried to learn how to ride a Trikke (basically a 3 wheel scooter) and fell on my rear end because I am a klutz and made the huge mistake of leaning backwards. This shook my confidence, but I refused to be defeated by this machine and am happy to say that I am having no problem using this standing up.I am very surprised there are not more purchases and reviews of this product since it is very well made and a great value. I also like the fact that this has a handle, which makes this easy to transport. The unit is a bit on the heavier side, but not so heavy that I would downgrade my review. Also, I have an L shaped desk, and I have to store it on the side without the keyboard because there is not enough space to move my legs, but that would probably be the case with any under desk elliptical. One thing that is not mentioned in the description is that you get free access to the muuv app which gives you the ability to design an exercise program around different activities beyond just the elliptical. I have not used it yet, but plan to soon. The unit comes with resistance bands which you can incorporate into your routine. Finally, there is an instructional DVD with various exercises for your consideration. When you register the product, there is a free exercise guide to download, so yet another perk. Quite frankly, this exceeded my expectations because I thought more of the unit would be cheap plastic. The base is solid metal, and the pedals are large enough to ensure a safe and productive workout. Just take your time, go easy, and you will enjoy this elliptical very much!! I highly recommend this product.Gentle range of motionWas fairly easy to assemble. However, be sure to carefully read instructions prior to assembly so do not have to repeat steps.Very smooth operation when using in seated position or when using chair for hand support. However, little jerky when using in stand up position without supplemental support.Best feature is size and ease of movement. We have an 1800 square foot apt and wanted something that could be hidden when not in use. Not so with treadmill. Also, this gives a better workout than the treadmill while being easier on knees, back and hips.Have only had a few months, so cannot attest to long term durability but was inexpensive, so if it lasts one year, replacement will not be too costly.Much more quite than treadmill.Obviously not professional equipment quality but my wife and I do not feel safe going to our gym and will not until well after Covid frequency declines to acceptable levels.Overall feel this is worth investment if space is consideration.Easy to put togetherFirst the quality is much better than I anticipated. When I started I was 190 lbs and it was very smooth and held my weight with no issues. I’m certain it could hold much more. It’s quiet and so smooth. But the range of motion isn’t a full stride, so that may be disappointing to some. For me it just gave me the opportunity to work on my balance and also I use it as a bike in a sitting position ( just turn it backwards) I’ve lost 20 lbs now and it’s made such a difference in how I feel at the end of the day. So as long as you go in understanding the short stride, I’d say it’s a must buy for those looking for something at home to keep moving. My cross trainer was very old and taking up too much room in the spare bedroom. This looked like an acceptable alternative and although it is not a direct substitute you can work up your heart rate and calorie burn with no difficulty. It is also good for balance as you have to concentrate on that. Pulling up the tubes to shoulder height is tough work and I think it is of definite benefit to my ageing shoulders. But, it was squeaky, straight out of the box. And then a piece of metal fell out - roughly half of a washer. I contacted their support team as per their web site ([email protected]) but no response after two attempts. I gave them every detail including the device serial number and precise model number, just no response from them.I am still using it as it does the job and, in truth, I am not going to be bothered with sending it back to the USA. I guess that is what they may be assuming. Bought for 82 year old mother in law with mobility issues - foot pain and leg swelling, back problems. She uses this frequently from the couch and armchair while doing other things and seems to feel better for it. Two weeks now. Her condition is still up and down so not sure if it's helping yet but getting movement back into her life must be helpful. What I bought it for, it did the job. Quarantine way to move my legs. Does it substitute for a good walk run or stairs? No way. If you’re buying it for a primary exercise outlet you’re nuts. If you’re buying it for the desk at work, or a good way to move your legs a little when you’re stuck inside? Buy it.Originally, the product arrived damage. There was damage to the body of the product that unfortunately wasn't a quick fix, or a part that could simply just be replaced. I was initially very disappointed and upset with the condition it had come in because I really thought it would be a great product.I was finally able to get in touch with both Amazon and the Stamina and both were extremely helpful. Amazon replaced the product within a day of receiving my return/exchange form, and the product works very well. Very happy with it. It's a nice light "workout" that's great for long work days where you're sitting a desk for long periods of time and just want to get that circulation going. I would recommend this product.Only thing I would recommend is trying to get it while it is on sale, because it is a bit pricey at regular cost. Other than that, good stuff.
